The Pre sales to commissioning process

A well-structured plan is meticulously followed to ensure that all projects deliver the best in terms of the design, product and installation to ensure customer delight.

The process begins with a briefing to the concerned Pre sales Business Executive who in turn briefs the design team.
The design team prepares the relevant documents to reflect the design intent, to ensure accuracy in terms of requirement, commissioning and operation.
A Business Manager leads the team with responsibility for design, costing and finalizing the contract.

Once the Purchase Order is placed, a Project Manager or Project Engineer (based on the size of the contract) takes control of the project, responsible for the following tasks.

Collect and provide information for review by the commissioning team during the design phase.
Finalize a defined project schedule.
Facilitate communication among the Quality Assurance team.
Decide on acceptance or rejection of the product to be delivered and also co-ordinate related documentation.
Co-ordinate distribution and submission of shop drawings, operation and maintenance manuals.
Total project management to ensure that product design and installation are executed as per the determined specifications and code.
Typically, the task of the Project team would be as follows.
The approved architecture plan and AutoCAD software are used to plan conduits, raise ways, electrical and network receptacles.
The Project Manager then obtains the relevant approvals.
Customer regulations with regard to safety and standards are strictly adhered to.
Based on site inspection and consultations with the technical team, the Project Manager finalizes the plan, which is then communicated to all associated vendors.
Rack drawings are then made by the drawing team based on the bill of materials issued by the design engineer.
Technicians then proceed to test equipments and then rack the same at site.
Default settings and latest firmwares are loaded and the same is documented, while cables are drawn thought the conduits and raise ways, checked for continuity, ferruled for future identification and terminated with the appropriate connectors. This would be documented for testing.
During installation, programmers develop the front-end interface and codes for effective communication between all the hardware. Once systems are manually tested for interconnectivity, the software is loaded on the microprocessor.
Technical writers then prepare the Operation & Maintenance manual with as built drawings and detailed illustrations on operating the system.
The user is then trained and a Do's and Don'ts list drawn up with emergency Customer Support contact information.

The Project Manager forms a vital point of contact for the Customer / Consultant. Highly skilled technicians with specific expertise in various domains of Audio Visual Integration assist the Project Manager.
